I'll be reading tonight for Lagoons Editions at the Uptown Arts Center, at a special event featuring Fractal Edge Press poets! That means work from I Am Spam, as well as newer stuff.
Hope to see you there!

New poem in Nixes Mate Review
I'm thrilled to have a poem included in the latest edition of Nixes Mate Review!
This particular piece was written last year, after various trips to the Art Institute of Chicago in preparation for one of the Poetry Foundation's Pop Up Poetry events, a series of 30-minute lunchtime poetry readings marking the reopening of the museum's Contemporary Collection.
It also appears in a chapbook I'm currently shopping around including all the work I composed during my Art Institute visits. Enjoy!

Stephanie Morris single out now
Stephanie Morris was a Texas-born, Chicago-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist. In 2006, I asked her to record a pair of demos for possible inclusion in an announced Neil Young covers project; the record label eventually passed, and the demos were never completed. Stephanie passed away in 2009, but I thought the demos – which had been recorded to capture the best performance possible – were strong enough to complete. With the addition of a string arrangement from the brilliant Wim Oudijk (who also sadly died in 2016), the first of two singles is here at last, with the second to (hopefully) follow early next year.
This is a digital-only release. Get yours now from iTunes, Apple Music, Bandcamp, or other digital content providers.

Scapi Radio Interview
Today I was interviewed by Daniel Johanson and Maureen Smith of Scapi Magazine, discussing "poetry, formatting albums and books as a creative, letting the political side bubble in the undercurrents of art, and 'repurposing' furniture donated to laundry rooms." I had a blast and hope you enjoy as much as I did!
